Equinox Botanicals is an herbal company that has been producing herbal products since the mid-1970s. It began when the founder, Paul Strauss, created an herbal salve for everyday wounds that come with working on the farm. Friends and neighbours liked it enough to start asking for their own, and what began as a farm life remedy slowly grew into the Equinox Botanicals herbal products brand.

Equinox Botanicals operates out of the Equinox Farm and Botanical Sanctuary in Southeast Ohio, a region called "Appalachia's herb basket" for the density of wild medicinal herbs growing there. According to Equinox Botanicals, the herbs used in its products are sustainably grown, without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilisers, or are ethically wild-harvested. Equinox Botanicals produces its herbal products in small batches at its apothecary, where each stage of production and packaging is closely monitored.
