OKU New Zealand: Range of Herbal Products

OKU New Zealand believes in harnessing the power of Aotearoa (New Zealand) native plants in developing its products. The unique OKU New Zealand formulas were primarily developed by medical herbalist and naturopath Scott Smith, who has an experience working in the natural healthcare industry for almost 20 years. Together with his wife, Helen, they have run the brand as a family business since 2010. The name OKU means ‘of mine, belonging to me’ in Te Reo, which is used as a way to describe the treasure of the forests and plants that grow there, belonging as a collective possession to the people who live on the land.

The OKU New Zealand difference

This Certified B Corporation was established out of the founders’ desire to harness native plants (with a history of traditional use to help maintain or support ora (wellbeing)) into a product range that can help people rediscover and experience the amazing properties held within the native forests.

Kawakawa is the favourite herb at OKU. But the brand also uses other herbs, like horopito, manuka, akeake, etc. It uses more traditional herbs as well to support, complement and amplify the properties of these natives. Products are formulated using these herbs to help support digestion, immunity, skin health, general wellness, and more.
